Thoughts:
The
Cover: The
cover is very much the same as the first two, but with a darker
shade. Lily's orange fiery eyes are kinda scary and the frosted
lilies along the edge give a dark and ominous feeling.
The
Plot:
Holy!!
Although this book didn't have that total addiction for me, it was
still very well written and entertaining. There were some totally
unexpected twists and turns. Without giving anything away, I am so
glad some things turned out one way and so sad other things went
other ways. Devil's Frost brought such a variety of emotion—anger,
wonder, joy, frustration.
The
Characters: Again,
Heidi's characters are very well written. Lily and Logan continue to
develop as they learn things about themselves and each other. Chance
and Orchid continue to be favorites. They didn't go in the direction
I had hoped they would, but they both played pretty big parts in the
story. And I am so confused as to which side some characters are on!
Is
it Worth Reading?: Yes! Yes! Yes! This chapter in the Spellspinners of Melas County is definitely worth reading; the plot just gets thicker. Were is Heidi going to take us next? I can't wait for Book 4, but in the meantime I highly recommend Devil's Frost. But, if you haven't read Witch's Brew and The Gleaning, read those first. Devils Frost gets 4/5 crossbows.
