Goodreads Synopsis

In the second installment of the Spellspinners saga, Lily’s worldview is rocked by fear, mistrust, and heartbreak, as she deals with the fallout from the night of her enchantment.
Someone powerful is determined to keep her and Logan apart. But who? And why?

As the covens prepare to do battle in the Solstice Stones, the lines between good and evil, dark and light, begin to blur. Allegiances are called into question. Trust is broken. And all Lily knows may just be an illusion.

Will the star-crossed lovers unearth the seeds of betrayal before it’s too late? Or will the witches and warlocks of Melas County be forced to say goodbye to their magic—and any chance of reconciliation between the covens—for good?

In The Gleaning, nothing is as it seems. And Lily and Logan will have to tread carefully if they hope to uncover the truth in time to save their love and break the curse.

My Thoughts:

The Cover: What a beautiful cover! A beautiful girl, surely our strong and courageous protagonist. Peaks out from burining plants. Beautiful and mysterious, a peak into the next chapter of Lily's story.
The Plot:  Have you ever read a book that just kinda pulled you in from the first page and kept you enchanted right to the end. For me that has been The Spellspinners of Melas County. And the story just keeps getting better as it goes along. The plot is extremely well written; it flows so well and there is nothing expected or boring about this story.

The Characters: I have loved Lily and Logan since their first encounter. Both protagonists are well written, smart, and strong as they go through a lot of tests above and beyond what young witches and warlocks usually have to endure. And knowing who to trust??? Forget it!! I love little Daisy; she is such a sweetie!

Is it Worth Reading?:  Without a doubt! Heidi pulled us in with Witch's Brew and has kept us hooked with The Gleaning. What's to come in Devil's Frost? Who are Lily and Logan to trust? Will the witches lose their magic altogether? I can't wait to read Devil's Frost, highly recommend The Spellspinners of Melas County series to readers of fantasy, paranormal, and romance and give it 5/5 crossbows!
